ULTRAVIM SOFTWARE
The UltraVim software controls all our vision systems using standard, interchangeable part libraries. With flexible hardware configurations, it can inspect devices from 1 mm to 65 mm BGA packages with up to 10,000 balls. The application can be installed on a Windows computer and integrates easily into existing robotic systems.

 

SPEED
Most of the cameras used in our systems use a USB3 connection and a USB2 light control for a total grab time from 0.04 to 0.10 seconds. The total inspection time, including the image grab, ranges from about 0.05 seconds up to 0.20 seconds depending on the number of leads on a Core i7 processor.

 

REPORTS
The software creates a Lot Summary report at the end of a job. Additional reports for the Accuracy, Repeatability and Gage R&R can easily be created by the user. The failed images and SPC data can automatically be saved by the system. The system has a ZIP function that stores all settings for backup or support.

 

COMMUNICATION
The UltraVim software communicates with robotic systems through a socket interface, enabling reliable interactions across either the same or separate computers. A host application establishes the connection and sends inspection requests using simple string commands to receive a PASS or FAIL result.

 

V4 SOFTWARE
The UltraVim V4 software uses a certified calibration pattern and stereo images to perform coplanarity inspection of leads. The measurements are compared to the saved tolerances to determine a pass or fail result. The same methodology is used for QFP, BGA and QFN devices so there is no need for hardware changes.

 

UX SOFTWARE
The UltraVim UX software uses two camera images to inspect BGA devices and a single image with custom optics for coplanarity inspection of SOP, TSOP, PLCC and QFP devices. The system includes an additional light head to inspect the BGA devices. An optional 2D QFN light head is also available.

 

VX SOFTWARE
The UltraVim VX module uses the same software and custom optics as the UX module to inspect coplanarity of SOP, TSOP, PLCC and QFP devices in three dimensions. The inspection reticle images a center view and four side views of each device which allows the software to calculate the coplanarity of each lead. 

 

2D SOFTWARE
The UltraVim 2D software uses standard SOP, TSOP and QFP library files to inspect devices for bent lead. The system learns the position of the leads after the user draws a search box around them. The user can also draw a search box around the mark or logo on the device to test orientation.

 

2M SOFTWARE
The UltraVim 2M software allows the user to draw search boxes to learn the mark or logo on the first device. The system inspects subsequent images and calculates the correlation to the learned image. The user can also use the split mark function to automatically create more sensitive search boxes.
